This is a poorly documented record. Almost no info given on cover. On the cover it says:" This compilation by the DECCA Record Company." That is misleading. On the label it says: "Produced " Which is right. This record was first released as: "Cracked Spanner Head" by Otis Spann in on DECCAs Deram sub-label.5/5(1).

Cracked Spanner Head is a remix of the Blues album with a lot of reverb, etc. added. It is not an improvement. HOWEVER, Crack Spanner includes 4 extra tracks, three of which were from the original BLues session. Why they didn't just add these to The BLues of Otis Spann and release what would have been a great single cd, is beyond me/5(3).
